TRAVEL: The National Art Center, Tokyo
Instagramで見ていてずっと来てみたかった国立新美術館。ガラス張りの建物の中に入って最上階まで行き、景色を確認する。ああ、Instagramで見た景色だ。これだ。ということで確認ができたので用事は終わった。やはりスマホの画面で得た感動はその程度であり、それ以上の何か感動を生むものではなかった。
Visited The National Art Center, Tokyo, a place I’d wanted to see ever since spotting it on Instagram. I walked into the glass-walled building, headed up to the top floor, and took in the view. It was exactly what I had seen on my screen. With that confirmed, my business there was done.
It made me realize that the excitement gained through a smartphone screen doesn't really go beyond that level. It didn’t spark any deeper inspiration.
