TRAVEL: First Time at Tokyo Dome

小学生の時から応援していた巨人の試合を観に、初めて東京ドームへ。私が最も熱を持って応援していた時の巨人のオーダーは、1番 清水、2番 二岡、3番 高橋由、4番 松井、5番 清原、6番 江藤、7番 阿部、8番 仁志、9番 上原。その後はもう冷めてしまっている。東京ドームは自分が思っていたよりも普通の古い建物で、人もまばらだった。もっと混雑を想定していたので、私にとってはとても嬉しい好きな雰囲気だった。まずチケット代がかなり良心的である。2階席で内野に近いエリアで2000円台で入れるのはありがたい。そもそも2階席でしか観ない自分にとってはなお良い。そして、試合が終わった後の混雑もほどほどである。一番いいのは近くのビジネスホテルに泊まること。快適に楽しめた。

I finally made my first trip to Tokyo Dome to see the Giants, a team I’ve rooted for since childhood. My personal peak of fandom was back in the early 2000s—the legendary Shimizu, Nioka, Takahashi, Matsui, Kiyohara, Eto, Abe, Nishi, and Uehara era. I’ve pretty much cooled off since then.

The stadium felt surprisingly ordinary and dated, and the stands were sparse. But since I expected chaotic crowds, this quiet, low-key atmosphere was actually right up my alley. Plus, the pricing is incredibly reasonable; you can grab a second-tier infield seat for around 2,000 yen, which is perfect for me since the upper deck is where I always prefer to watch anyway. Leaving after the game was a breeze too. Crashing at a nearby business hotel afterward was definitely the winning move for a perfectly comfortable getaway.
